GammaChef prepared “Gregada” – traditional fish stew

Gregada is a traditional, Dalmatian fish stew.

We chose Gregada for two reasons: one- because the robot should break boundaries ;D and two- because we wanted to test how it was going to cook fish. We wanted to test that because fish meat is very sensitive to stirring (that’s why fish is usually cooked in one piece). Since the robot has no arms and can’t put the fish in the pot in one piece, we though it would be interesting to try the recipe on the robot. For this recipe we used our latest prototype ,as we like to call it, The Blue Beast.

The ingredients are:

  • monk fish
  • potato
  • onion, garlic and parsley
  • dry white wine
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  • water

Gregada turned out great! The monk fish, chopped in peices, showed great resistance to cooking. Usually, gregada is not stirred but rather you shake the pot so we kept the stirring to a minimum. We’ll probably need to introduce a super slow stirring mode, or so called, Gregada Stirring Style :D. That will be an another task for our development team.
